Last week, I was invited to attend an event hosted by Ann Taylor and Marie Claire called “Executive Presence” — and it was all about how to amp up your workplace wardrobe in order to get where you want to go in your career.
There was a huge crowd there!
Keira looks amazing on the March cover, doesn’t she?
The panel included Marie Claire Features Director Lea Goldman, LinkedIn Career Expert Nicole Williams and Marie Claire Fashion Editor Rae Boxer.
Elizabeth Arden was there doing mini-makeovers …
And LinkedIn was there doing profile consultations …
And helping ladies improve their LinkedIn profile pics …

Here are the top tips they shared at the event – for how to make ‘executive presence’ work for you:
{1} Understand the value of tailoring and clothes that truly fit.
{2} Know what works for you and your body.
{3} Be mindful of clothes that are too sexy for the office.
{4} The right undergarments provide a good foundation.
{5} Maintain your mane; keep your hair styled and neat.
{6} Understand the importance of appropriate makeup.
{7} Nails that are trimmed and manicured never go unnoticed.
{8} Casual is OK! Just make sure you do it right for the office.
{9} Never underestimate the power of accessories.
{10} Not sure if your appearance is appropriate? Don’t be afraid to solicit feedback.
They also talked about how important it is to manage your personal brand online … which is so true!
The event was super interesting, and I thought that in the current economic climate, it was chock full of great information. They’re going to be holding similar events in the future, so definitely stay tuned!
