Yesterday, I was honored to be able to attend LuckyFABB — Lucky Magazine’s Fashion and Beauty Bloggers Conference — at the New York Times Center.
As I’ve said before, I’ve been reading Lucky Magazine since the very first issue in 2000. And as I told Editor in Chief Brandon Holley when I had the chance to chat quickly with her in-person (eeek!), I’ve really loved watching the magazine evolve and grow just as I’ve evolved and grown. When Lucky first hit newsstands 12 years ago, I was a freshman in college. What I bought was different, what I wore was different, and my personal style was different. But Lucky has continued to speak to me over all these years. And while other magazines have come and gone in my rotation, I don’t think there will ever be a time I don’t subscribe to Lucky!
So you can see why attending this conference was a real thrill to me.
Now … first things first. What did I wear?
Old Navy top (similar) / Madewell vest (similar) / vintage necklace (similar) / J. Crew Minnie pant / Payless animal print flats
And of course I wanted to share some photos I took during the day —
Lucky EIC Brandon Holley giving opening remarks
Brandon chatting with Terry Lundgren, Chairman, President & CEO of Macy’s
Lauren Sherman of Lucky (don’t you love her vintage-y dress?!) with Leah of Fashionista, Annie of Refinery29 and Leandra of The Man Repeller gave great insight on the big picture landscape of fashion blogging right now
Brandon talking with Rachel Zoe, who was just so much fun to listen to – she seems very genuine, honest and legit.
Probably one of my favorite panels of the day — Deb Schwartz of Lucky talking with Susan of Gilt Group, Lauren Bush Lauren of FEED, Aliza of DKNY fame and Erica of P.S. I Made This (where I learned that cool trick of turning a t-shirt into a scarf!)
During a break, I had the chance to check out some of the brands that were in attendance — and these shoes & jewels from the Just Fab booth caught my eye —
And after lunch, it was back to the good stuff —
Jean Godfrey-June of Lucky chatted with Lauren Conrad – as someone who never watched Laguna Beach or The Hills and didn’t know much about LC, it was refreshing to learn about her. She’s built a very cool brand for herself. I’m also looking forward to her next Kohl’s line and reading her book.
The last session of the day — with Simon Doonan and Anna Sui — was just flat out fun. Lots of great conversation about what inspires them, pop culture, etc.
And as you can see, by the time everyone made it to the cocktail reception at the end of the day, the place was completely cray.

I haven’t even had the chance to go through all the business cards from the fabulous bloggers I met, or properly explore the amazingness that is the giant gift bag sitting on the floor of my living room right now. It’s been such an exhausting but really inspiring few days so far!
Today, I am out enjoying Day Two of LuckyFABB, which consists of BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S (no, seriously) and then shopping in one of the ritziest parts of Manhattan with Lucky editors. It honestly feels like an amazing dream I’m going to wake up from any second.
Be on the look out for more recaps soon — and I may even be sharing some of my free goodies with you guys!
Breakfast at Tiffany's?!?! That sounds fantastic–I want to hear all about it. Have fun!
