Last night was one of those evenings where, as a blogger, I had to stop and pinch myself to see if it was all real or just a dream. Saks Off 5th opened up a brand new NYC location (and their first in Brooklyn!) and treated me to a little shopping spree so I could come check out the deals and scope out my own #Off5thFinds. I had an absolute blast.
The store is big, airy and relaxing, with wide aisles, super nice employees and totally easy to navigate departments where all of the hottest trends are highlighted. My favorite departments were probably the jewelry department (hello, an entire section of chokers!) and the shoe department (the Brooklyn store alone is home to 7,000 pairs!). They even carry great beauty brands like Kiehl’s and Bliss. I was there for a couple of hours, and probably still didn’t see everything there was to see.
These are just some of the awesome goodies I scoped out while I was there —

Oh and I had entirely too much fun on my little shopping spree. I had some things I was really on the hunt for — like over-the-knee boots — but aside from that I decided to just canvas the place and see what goodies jumped out at me!
Here’s what I ended up coming home with:

This scarf (and the matching hat) were so super soft and cozy that I couldn’t resist.
Finding these boot made my day / night / week / possibly life. It is SO HARD for me to find boots wide enough that will fit my calves but that are still stylish. These are super comfy, too. Also? The shoe section has plenty of stools, benches and even couches to try on shoes. Clutch.
I am all about stars lately, and I loved this necklace the instant I saw it.
Totally loved this hat, and it was super soft like the matching scarf. A total no-brainer.
The photos of this necklace totally do not do it justice — it’s GORGEOUS in person. And I don’t know if I necessarily would have noticed it on the website … one of the benefits of heading to the store to scope things out in person, because you never know what you’ll find when you go there 🙂
I am completely addicted to mid- and high-top sneakers at the moment. These were so comfy and lightweight, I couldn’t resist. Perfect for casual Fridays.
These candles always smell so good but I’ve never splurged on one until now. The guava scent makes me feel like I’m on a tropical vacation …
Lastly, the Brooklyn location is super easy to get to via public transportation — it’s just a few short blocks from the 36th Street station stop off the N train in Brooklyn — which is only the second stop in Brooklyn on the N, just after the Atlantic Ave. / Barclays Center stop! In my humble opinion, it’s well worth a trip because there are so many deals to be had. The shoe department alone is worth the visit.
PS – I am about to blow your mind, so get ready. Did you know that you can actually return eligible items
you ordered from GILT.com to this Saks Off 5th location?! Just a little inside scoop for ya 😉
***Editor’s note: in exchange for sharing my love for Saks Off 5th with my readers, the store graciously treated me to ‘my Off 5th finds’ listed above. Many thanks to Saks Off 5th for a super fun evening.
