Took a little trip recently to try on some new Anthropologie dresses — sharing my thoughts on all of the different styles here!
First up: I tried on the Cady tiered tunic dress. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I mistakenly brought a 3X into the dressing room and it was VERY roomy haha. I definitely could’ve gone with the 1X like I normally do with the A+ by Anthropologie plus-size line, as their pieces are usually pretty true-to-size. If you’re looking for this particular colorway, you’ll have to check your local Anthro store — right now they have another color shade (a peach) available in limited sizing.
Right now it’s on sale for $89.95 plus an extra 40% off the sale price!
Next up, I tried on the Nina camo mini shirtdress in an XL (from the regular sizes) but it also comes in plus-size. The regular size XL pulled a little bit across the boobs, so I probably would’ve gone with the 1X from the plus-sizes (they just didn’t have it in my local store)…but you can certainly shop the plus-sizes online! The material is SUPER SOFT and comfy.
It’s regular price at $138 right now, as it’s one of the new winter styles, but don’t forget that Anthropologie dresses (and everything else on their site) can be purchased with afterpay, so you could get the dress now but split it up into 4 interest-free installment payments of $34.50 each, so you don’t have to lay out the whole amount at once. Totally genius!
Next up, I really loved the Daia plaid mini dress. It looks like it’s sold out online now, but definitely check out your local Anthropologie store because it was super soft and comfy, and really cute! Wearing the 1X here from the plus-size line here for reference.
Next up, I tried on the Agostina velvet burnout tunic dress which is on sale right now, too (for $99.95) + an extra 40% off the sale price. I’m wearing the 1X here — and it was a little slim fitting because 1) that’s the silhouette, and 2) there isn’t much give or stretch to the fabric. Right now it looks like the only size left online is a 3X — so if you love this one, I would snag it now! Or you could of course try your local store.
Next up, I tried on the Melody velvet tunic dress. I tried this one on in an XL from the regular sizes, again because they didn’t have the plus-size version in my local Anthropologie store. My only complain about this one is that it’s pretty see-through as you can see. It doesn’t really look like it’s sheer at all in the photos on the website, but in person, you can definitely see my mid section and my leggings through.
This one is regular price right now at $148, but you could also use afterpay and get it for 4 interest-free installment payments of $37. My recommendation would be to go with one of the darker colors it comes in, unless you’re planning on wearing it with a slip and/or light colored tights (or no tights at all!).
Next up, I tried on the Eleanor velvet tunic dress, which is such a fun party dress! It’s also a new arrival, which means it’s regular price right now at $168 (or 4 interest-free payments of just $42 with afterpay). This dress was super soft and comfy — I’m wearing the 1X here in the plus-sizes for reference.
Next, I tried on the Anne tiered tunic dress. So cute and flattering! Definitely one of those staple styles that you could have in your closet for years. This one is also a new arrival, so it’s regular price right now ($148, or you can use afterpay and get it for 4 interest-free installment payments of $37). The dress also comes in three other colors — a solid black, a deep red, and a coppery gold. Wearing 1X here from the plus-sizes here for reference.
Last but certainly not least, I tried on the Lisabetta maxi dress, which I really didn’t expect to love so much! It’s a really silky and lightweight material, and the square neckline is super flattering. This dress would be perfect to wear on vacation to a tropical island someday. Wearing a 1X here from the plus-sizes. This one is a new arrival so it’s $158, or 4 interest-free payments of $39.50 when you use afterpay. Also comes in a super chic taupe animal print!
