Coquette Home Decor is a major trend right now, so I wanted to share a roundup of some amazing finds!
Everywhere I look lately — especially on social media — I am seeing tons of people turning their homes into a very personal reflection of their taste. Everyone is embracing bold designs, colors, and decor. Maximalism is here to stay! I love it because I think it’s a rebellion against the super plain all gray and white aesthetic we were seeing for so long.
I’ve recently talked about a few of these major trends (Strawberries, Kitschy, Palm Springs) and coquette home decor is another major example. So, what is it exactly?
What exactly is Coquette Home Decor?
The coquette aesthetic is characterized by a mix of sweet, romantic, and sometimes playful elements. Coquette focuses on femininity through elements like lace, bows, flounces, pastel colors, and tassels. The trend definitely draws inspiration from historical periods like the Victorian era and the 1950s, with a modern twist. Think Bridgerton, Marie Antoinette, Moulin Rouge, and Lolita all rolled into one. The word “coquette” means flirtatious in French, so this trend is naturally very flirty! Imagine a mix of balletcore, cottagecore, and princesscore — and voila!
