Yesterday, I committed what many fashion bloggers would consider to be a cardinal sin: I wore flats to a Fashion Week event! Eeek! Can you sense the sarcasm in my voice? 🙂
In all honesty, I just felt like rocking a flat motorcycle boot to day two of the IFB Conference. Some days, you just feel like being comfortable. And these grunge style boots — which are insanely comfortable — remind me of my childhood. The rest of my outfit had a decidedly 90s feel to it, too … think Cher in Clueless.
Ross Simon pearl earrings (similar) / J. Crew Factory button-down shirt (similar) and sweater (similar) / Chloe and Isabel necklace / J. Crew bracelet (similar) / watch c/o Caravelle by Bulova / LOFT skirt (similar) / LOFT tights / J. Crew thigh highs (similar) / Clarks boots
I’ve had these two items — this sweater and this skirt — for a long time, and NEVER thought of pairing them together. How ridiculous is that? It’s a tweed mini-skirt in earth tones and an oatmeal colored sweater … I should’ve been wearing these together all along!
I guess it helps sometimes to have one of those mornings where you’re pulling random items out of your closet … you never know what might inspire a new outfit.

who told flat boots can't be worn at fashion week or even on a red carpet? 😀
This outfit has a very 90s vibe and I love the skirt, it's is quite similar to one I had back then (handmade by my mom!) and I still wear in these days! Some things never get out of fashion.
