It occurred to me that I never really recapped the AMAZING food we had at the wedding … how is that possible?! How could I forget the most amazing part?! Our caterer, Bon Soir, helped us create the most amazing pit BBQ menu for the reception, and let us choose carnival desserts just like we wanted.
The best, most mouth-watering way to recap the grub for you is just to show you in pictures …
Crispy Dumplings
Garden Salad
Texas BBQ Beef Brisket
North Carolina BBQ Pulled Pork
Oven Roasted Potatoes and Green Beans
Four-cheese Mac ‘n’ Cheese
Zeppole
Deep Fried Oreos
Warm Chocolate Chip Cookies
Blueberry Cobbler
Apple Crisp
Vanilla and Chocolate Ice Cream

hi,
my fiance and i were thinking about using bon soir for our caterer as well. we were thinking the bbq, is there anything that really stood out to you and your guests? any insight would be great!
thanks
Hi Marisa! Oh my gosh, I don't even think I can pick one favorite or stand-out thing, it was all delicious! We definitely loved the brisket and the pulled pork, and then we went with a non-BBQ item too (the lemon pepper grilled chicken) in case anyone wasn't keen on BBQ. We also went with a grilled vegetable antipasto in case there were any non-meateaters. The sides were amazing, and so were the hors d'oeuvres … everyone raved about the food and Jeff was a joy to work with. Did you go there for a tasting yet? That was my favorite part 🙂
The foods look amazing! If I were one of your guests, I'd really be delighted. 🙂 They also look elegant and very presentable.
Haven't gone for the tasting yet, our wedding isn't until October 2012. But we are having it at the Queens Farm so your site has been an AMAZING help! Any advice or words of wisdom for someone starting to plan an event there? We're having a very low key bbq. Don't care if my guests show up in jeans, as long as they have a good time!
I would say that if you can hire a day-of coordinator, or if you have a friend who can help out with a lot of those little details, it will make it much easier to execute all of the day-of decorating since it's a pretty raw event space and they don't have an on-site planner or decorator.
