Tonight I attended the launch of Gabrielle Union’s new collection for NY & Company, and I was pleasantly surprised by how many cute pieces there were! Oh and the best part is that almost the entire collection is under $100 (except for the outerwear which is understandable).
Gabrielle showed up looking completely gorgeous and glowing (she’s 44!) in one of the standout pieces from the collection – this yellow sheath dress:
I spy a gorgeous cobalt blue jumpsuit with a cutout in the background … oh and an off-the-shoulder top, too.
This faux leather moto jacket is one of my personal favorites. I love the stud detail on the sleeves.
They made a bunch of different pieces in this gorgeous cobalt blue print, which is just so beautiful and vibrant in person. This is a close-up look at the back of the kimono coat.
How adorable is this cropped ‘FIRE’ sweater?!
So, true story – I inquired about the real truth behind this bodysuit … is it really comfortable or does it just make you feel like you have a wedgie all day? Because I haven’t worn a bodysuit since the 90s and I don’t have too many fond memories of them.
Well, the woman I asked had been wearing hers all day — from work to running errands and then attending the event — and she was still super comfortable in it. So that’s kind of amazing. Also – there are two sets of snaps in the crotch, so it fits ladies with long torsos and short torsos … freaking genius.
Oh and in case you were wondering, yes you can rock both a kimono and a palazzo pant at the same time. Because it’s 2017, bitches.
Another genius detail from the collection – this jumpsuit can be worn on or off-the-shoulder AND there are also spaghetti straps you can either tuck in or wear.
I love how they lined this long kimono coat in the yellow … such an extra special little detail that really makes pieces stand out.
Seems like when it comes to wearing white after Labor Day, Gabrielle DGAF. Enter this jumpsuit.
This skirt is like a faux leather / satiny hybrid and it feels AMAZING. It also comes in a camel color.
WANT … so in love with this skirt, too. The pattern is everything.
Swoon … I think I might have to try these harem pants now. Also love the choker blouse.
So effortlessly gorge… especially love the pants.
I love that all of the pieces are really strong on their own, but pairing them together just makes them exponentially more glamorous… this is the off-the-shoulder sheath dress paired with the kimono coat.
I kind of love that the collection is a great mix of sporty, loungewear pieces you could easily wear to the grocery story, like the cropped hoodie and the striped harem pants, and then these ultra glam (but still completely effortless and easy to wear) statement pieces like the jumpsuit.
