Figuring out how to dress this time of year is always tricky (why is it chilly in the morning and then I am dying of heatstroke by lunch?!) … but this J.Crew peplum top might be the perfect summer-to-fall transition piece. It’s enough of a neutral that it can be worn with a lot of different fall colors (think army green, burgundy, and of course navy), it has some really interesting details and texture with the floral embroidery, and can easily be layered with a cardigan or a blazer when it actually gets colder. I even saw a woman wearing it with a thin, fitted long-sleeve white t-shirt layered underneath it the other day and it looked so unexpectedly chic!
When I wore it most recently, it was perfect for dinner and drinks on a weekend night — I just paired it with some dark skinny jeans and gold sandals.
