Keep calm and carry on … sounds a lot easier said than done at the moment, doesn’t it? With all of the craziness happening right now with the COVID19 Coronavirus, several of my followers on Instagram have asked me if I have any suggestions for how to relax while we’re all stuck at home in voluntary self-quarantine and practicing our social distancing.
The funny thing is, relaxing is something that doesn’t come particularly natural to me. I have a very hard time relaxing! In fact, I used to have debilitating panic attacks and suffered from horrible anxiety eight years ago. It was an awful time, but thankfully one that is behind me. In the end, a combination of therapy and medication was pretty much the only thing that helped me rewire my brain.
Anyway, I sincerely hope none of you are experiencing crippling anxiety like I was — but for those of you who are feeling just a little uneasy / stressed / worried about the current state of affairs — or maybe you’re just stuck at home with your kids for the foreseeable future? — I am sure we could all use some tools to destress.
To that end, I wanted to share some of my favorite things that help me relax on a daily basis (like Yogi teas, this aromatherapy pillow spray, and this essential oil roll-on), as well as some products that other bloggers I know use every day and swear by (like this cozy weighted blanket and this acupressure mat). If there is anything we can do over the next few weeks or months, like taking baths, doing yoga at home, or making our sleeping environments more comfy and cozy, it could keep us from going stir crazy.
