I am honestly so proud of Target for — on the heels of saying they would break down gender divides in the kids sections of their stores — introducing a new brand and line of gender-neutral kids bedding and home decor called Pillowfort.
I think that it’s absolutely imperative that we let our kids be whoever it is they want to be and stop putting strict labels on things. Can you imagine how it must feel for a young boy or girl these days to not even feel like they fit in at a store when picking out clothes, or bedding, or things that are going to surround them in their room and that reflect their identity? I love that this new line is beautiful, sure, but it’s even better that it’s going to be all-inclusive, instead of being divided into “boys” and “girls.”
